Sanctuary

Sanctuary has published its first Sustainability Report, demonstrating its ambition to become a more sustainable organisation and continue having a positive impact on society.
Sanctuary recognises the areas where it has the greatest potential to contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which aim to stimulate action to support peace and prosperity for people and the planet between now and 2030.
Through a mixture of case studies and statistics, this report highlights Sanctuary’s work in three aspects of sustainability: environmental, social and governance, and prioritises three strategic aims:
- Understanding and limiting its environmental impact, making tangible steps on its journey to net zero by 2050
- Providing high-quality homes and services that support customers to have healthy and fulfilling lives; and
- Always acting as a responsible organisation that is here for the long-term, recognising the positive role it can make in the lives of its employees, as well as its customers.
Donna Williams, Sanctuary’s Group Director – Sustainability and Climate Change, said: “As a housing provider of more than 105,000 homes, we do not underestimate the responsibility we have in supporting 250,000 people to thrive.
