Keeping your home gas safe

9th September 2025

Sanctuary

A maintenance worker in a high-visibility vest is kneeling beside a white radiator mounted on a wall. He is using a tool to adjust or repair the radiator. The background shows a kitchen area with various items visible, and there are light switches on the wall next to the radiator. The floor is wooden, and the overall setting appears to be a home or apartment.

The theme of this year’s Gas Safety Week (8 — 15 September) is ‘looking after your home, friends, and family’.

The aim of the week is to remind everyone how important it is to have your yearly gas safety check.

Our gas engineers carry out safety checks in our homes all year round. If your check is due, or a gas appliance isn’t working properly, please let our engineer into your home so they can service or fix it.

Customers tell us our engineers do a great job. In July, they received an average satisfaction score for services of 93%, with some areas scoring 100%. In their feedback, customers often used words like polite, friendly, professional, efficient and helpful to describe our gas engineers.

One customer said: “The gas engineer was polite, respectful and diligent. He completed the repair quickly and to a high standard. He took care with this workmanship and fixed the issue.”
