Join our new Resident Advisory Panel – be at the heart of what we do

Thank you for your interest in the Resident Advisory Panel.  Applications for the panel are now closed.  Thank you to everyone who expressed an interest and submitted an application.  We'll be in touch with you in line with the timescales set out below.

Do you want to join our new Resident Advisory Panel (RAP) and help our Executive Team and Group Board shape the future of your services?

Could you bring a fresh perspective to the conversation and use your experience to help us improve what we do?

We’re looking for 12 enthusiastic and dedicated people to help us decide the way forward. We are looking for people like you!

As a RAP member at one of the UK’s biggest affordable housing organisations you’ll be making a real difference. You’ll influence the major decisions before they’re taken by our Executive Team and Group Board.

You’ll care about our neighbourhoods and be as ambitious as we are about the quality of service we provide.

Like the RAP, our Resident Scrutiny Panel is made up of volunteers who are also tenants or homeowners.

The key difference with this new Panel is that you’ll be making recommendations, and sharing your ideas and points of view, before and during the decision-making process.

Watch:

  • David Onions, our Head of Consumer Regulation and Engagement, thank you for your interest in getting involved
  • Craig Moule, our Group Chief Executive, explain why your involvement is important to him
  • Daren Nowlan, our Operations Director for Housing in England, tell of his commitment to involving you in decisions which affect our services
  • Lizzie Hieron, our Group Director – Housing and Property, talk to Sam Ferris about how our National Resident Scrutiny Panel will work alongside our new Resident Advisory Panel

So, what are we looking for?

  • People who are positive and passionate about making social housing better
  • People who believe that making a difference at the highest level is important
  • People as committed to thriving communities as we are
  • A diverse group with a mixture of experience
  • Find out more about the Resident Advisory Panel

What’s in it for you?

  • A real chance to stamp your influence right at the top
  • Your experience will drive up standards in homes across the country
  • Insight into how our Executive Team and Group Board functions
  • Support from our Learning Academy to help you grow your knowledge and skills
  • Expenses to cover costs including broadband and travel

What will it involve?

  • You’ll serve a three-year term
  • There will be four half-day meetings a year, in person or on video
  • You’ll provide your views and experience of the topics discussed

How do I apply?

The deadline for you to tell us you’re interested is Friday 27 January 2023.

You can tell us you’re interested by either:

*This will take you to a Sharefile page where you can upload your application. When recording your video or voice note, please clearly state your name, address and phone number, plus the reasons why you’re right for our RAP. It will also help if you tell us the services you’re most interested in from Repairs, Complaints, Homeownership, Supported Living, Local Estates, and Buying Goods/Services (Procurement).

What Happens Next?

Please tell us by 27 January if you’re interested in this fantastic opportunity to shape what we do.

We expect lots of interest for a place on our RAP and encourage early applications. It’s open to all Sanctuary Housing, Sanctuary Supported Living and Sanctuary Scotland tenants or homeowners who meet the conditions of your tenancy or lease.

If you are shortlisted, we’ll let you know by 13 February. We’ll invite you to a video call with other residents and our senior team later in February so you can find out more and ask questions.

We’ll confirm appointments to the RAP in good time for the Panel to get together for the first time on 22 and 23 March.

If you aren’t shortlisted, we’ll be in touch about other great opportunities for you to be involved.

If you have any questions before you tell us you’re interested, please email scrutiny@sanctuary.co.uk.

You can also book a slot with our Co-Regulation team on 24 or 25 January if you’ve got specific questions you’d like to talk through.
