We’re delighted to announce that Sanctuary has entered into a new partnership with leading Armed Forces charity Walking With The Wounded (WWTW).

As a leading national housing and care provider, we’re a proud supporter of the Armed Forces family, both as an employer and through our social purpose to provide housing, care and support.

We signed the Armed Forces Covenant in 2017 and are accredited at bronze level of the Defence Employers Scheme. We recently launched a dedicated offer for veterans, bringing together our services in one place for the first time, and actively support and promote awareness events including Reserves Day and Armed Forces Day.

Joel Oxberry, Director of Income at WWTW, said “We are excited to announce our new partnership with Sanctuary, whose commitment to supporting the veteran community aligns with our ‘Client First’ value.

“We look forward to working together on empowering the ex-military and their families through many different approaches, including awareness, advocacy, and fundraising.

“We would like to thank Sanctuary and its team for championing our work. The impact of this partnership will be far-reaching.”

Katie Poole, Sanctuary’s Armed Forces Champion and Head of Housing, added: “As a large housing association and care provider, we have a range of ways we can support and work with the Armed Forces community, from providing interesting, stimulating jobs with real prospects and a supportive culture to housing veterans and their families.

“We’re always keen to do more and are delighted to be embarking on this exciting new partnership with WWTW. We look forward to working closely together and achieving positive impacts and outcomes for those in need of support.”

The partnership will be formally launched with a virtual event featuring senior members from both organisations speaking about future plans and events, and the overall partnership objective of supporting the veteran community.
